For four years, it has been welcoming travelers passing through Lauragais, in the heart of a small village of less than 500 inhabitants. L'old family farm in En Cayre – whose land of almost two hectares extends at the foot of the wind turbines, in the town of Montégut-Lauragais -, Anne-Claire Charrier and her husband acquired it with the solid intention of transform it into lodgings. The couple from Lyon have set up two apartments there which they now rent throughout the year. But this fall, the Charriers embarked on a new venture.
Their ambition? Suggest here, at 2, route de Roumens, a reception and seminar space intended for individuals and professionals. Objective ? Offer to their customers “turnkey stays”.
A reception venue with a dual purpose…
It is in the old farmhouse of this building that the manager ofIn Cayre – Stays & events chose to create this additional service: the Palombe room. “Each of our spaces is named after a bird that can be observed in the region,” she comments. In addition to our Perdrix and Heron gîtes, we now have this place that we can rent for daytime wedding or baptism meals, family or business meetings, etc. It adapts to all types of eventsprivate or professional. »
The room is thus composed of two spacesalways rented together:
- the first, on the ground floor, dedicated to reception and equipped with a dining area, can accommodate up to 20 people;
- the second is a 70 m² modular room, equipped with a television, Wi-Fi and able to accommodate 20 people seated and up to 40 standing.
“In the sector, there are already many large estates and some much smaller ones,” notes Anne-Claire Charrier. We wanted create an in-betweenpresent an alternative, but always with this idea of chic and natural stay which we are already developing with the lodges. »
…with access to the swimming pool and outdoors
Because the professional intends to promote this part of Lauragais that she seems particularly fond of. “It’s not because we are in the countryside that we are country people: here, we advocate chic and natural stays,” says the woman who worked for ten years in the events industry. What pushed him into this new project? “The desire to bring the village to life and more broadly bring rurality to life,bring social connections here”she retorts.
Before adding: “The lodge is working well. The reception room was a logical continuation. I really wanted our guests to be able to enjoy a complete stay. » With the possibility of renting both accommodation and this new space.
What do the two have in common? The exteriors, shared and therefore accessible to all. “We have a large garden with a swimming pooland pétanque court et another badminton which we install in summer, but also a pond with a boate. In fine weather, you can also have a outdoor living room», Describes the owner.
Thematic activities and afternoons
If the forty-year-old sees her two activities as complementary she says she is vigilant so that they do not encroach on one another. “We will probably limit room rentals during the summer period, in order to not have too much impact on travelersand to limit interactions, she specifies. We also do not want to have a negative impact on the tranquility of the village. For evenings, there are party rooms. »
Anne-Claire Charrier, however, intends to take advantage of this new space to energize the village by organizing fairly regularly themed activities and afternoons. On the program: wellness stays , yoga retreatsor tasting evenings. “Our intention is also to support our local artisans and producers by highlighting them. »
