In Calvados, the prefecture announces this Monday, December 2, 2024: hunters, former hunters or even sports shooters must declare their firearmsuntil December 31, 2024, on the Weapons Information System (SIA) online platform.

A process in just a few clicks

The process is simple and only takes a few minutes by providing, in particular, identity papers and proof of address in digital format. Since 2022, creating an SIA account is OBLIGATORY.

Make an appointment to complete the procedures

For those who wish, it is possible to make an appointment to be supported in the process by the Huet digital reception point of the Calvados prefecture.

The Calvados departmental federation of hunters can also provide help, indicates the Calvados prefecture.

Mandatory procedures which are subject to controls

Only holders of hunting weapons or sports shooters are affected by the procedures. After December 31, holders who are not declared may be subject to administrative measures.

Holders of category C weapons who have not made their declarations may be sanctioned with two-year prison sentence anda maximum fine of 30,000 euros.
