In 2023, Creusois threw away 88.2 kilograms of household packaging according to Citéo. This company responsible for reducing the environmental impact of our waste notices a reduction in the quantity of recycled packaging.
The Creusois(e)s threw away 88.2 kilos of packaging in 2023, “that’s a good number”estimates Antoine André, regional director of Citéo. This company tasked with reducing the environmental impact of our waste, however, points out that in Creuse, the quantity of packaging thrown away decreased by 4.8% in 2023 compared to 2022.
“This sorting gesture is stagnating a little, we must think about continuing it”, specifies Antoine André. “In 2023, we consumed less glass than in 2022, the same for paper, this can explain this small decline in the sorting gesture. On the other hand, on plastic, metal and cardboard packaging, this gesture is maintained.” Citéo still finds recyclable waste in household waste : “some people sort bottles but not glass jars, others are skeptical about soiled plastic packaging like yogurt pots or oil bottles. This waste can be thrown away once completely empty, no need to wash it, water is a precious resource.”
