While it is never easy to find yourself on the street, the difficulties pile up when you are a woman, especially when you leave home to escape a violent partner. It is in particular with all these women in mind that the Poulettes l’Assaut! based in Tours, imagined the Christmas solidarity operation. Stephanie Fillonresident of Bourseul (Côtes-d'Armor) has been a member of this association of women, a bit rock and determined, for more than two years.
Hygiene, warmth and deliciousness
Already last year, in Maine-et-Loire, where she was living at the time, Stéphanie had collected Christmas bags for a very specific use.
“In a closed bag, we will put everything that can do good for the person in these difficult times,” assures the one who had collected around fifty.
Hygiene products, of course, deodorants, perfumes and even a small towel because “some women will be able to wash in bar toilets,” assures Stéphanie Fillon.
We can also think about makeup. “Living on the street does not prevent you from having a job interview”, but also from feminine hygiene products or even a box of dressings.
The bag will be completed with a hat, a scarf and gloves, a packet of cakes and a little kind word on a card.
Prohibited products
Please note, certain products are prohibited, because they are estimated dangerous or not appropriateand removed by Stéphanie who checks each bag: no religious signs or books, no condoms, no manicure set (nor scissors, nail clippers or other tweezers) and, finally, no lighter.
Bags, preferably a small backpack or canvas bag that women can transport easily, are to be put back in two collection points to this day.
One is at Maison Jouffe, in Saint-Lormel, the other is at the Le Cellier bar, in Plédéliac.
Two collection points
Stéphanie approached these two establishments somewhat by chance, having noted their dynamism.
“At the Cellier, the couple was already aware of female precariousness and I received a very warm welcome at Maison Jouffe. I am especially looking for collection points where people iron like hairdressers too,” says Stéphanie again. seeking traders receiving the bags around Dinan.
“As I have just arrived in the sector, I don't really have a network yet but these two businesses will already help me get started in Côtes-d'Armor. »
The bags collected until December 15 are not sent to the association's headquarters but distributed by Stéphanie to the emergency accommodation centers for women of the department.
Collection of Poulettes l’Assaut Christmas bags! until December 15 in two businesses: Le Cellier, a bar in the town of Plédéliac and La Maison Jouffe, just outside Plancoët on the road to Dinard. Information on the association's Facebook page and email: [email protected]
