He had just regained his freedom after ten years in detention. David L., 33, was judge in immediate appearance before the 10th criminal chamber of the Évry-Courcouronnes judicial court on Monday, November 25 for having commis domestic violence on his companion in Brunoy (Essonne).
A man very unfavorably known to the courts
The defendant arrived in the box leaning on a crutch. Disabled, he suffers hemiplegia since he received six bullets in the body following a settling of scores in his native land of Martinique.
Since coming of age, the man has spent more time incarcerated than in the open air. He was sentenced 11 times for acts of aggravated violence or gang theft and other offenses.
For six years, the thirty-year-old had been in a relationship with a resident of Brunoy, who tied behind bars until his release last October.
“Their relationship is toxic”
Their reunion quickly turned sour. On October 26, police officers from the Brunoy police station received the complaint from the young woman who denounces the violence exercised by David L.
The latter is on the run. He was found five days later at the wheel of his partner's car, while they were both preparing to leave for the weekend as if nothing had happened.
“Their relationship is completely toxic,” summarized his lawyer Maître Meier-Mirman. She indeed seems very ambivalent, knowing that the young woman was sentenced some time ago to a suspended prison sentence, after attempted to supply cannabis resin to her man during a meeting.
The defendant tries to minimize his actions and behavior
This medical secretary, however, reported twice to the police in less than a month the violence perpetrated by his companion.
At the hearing, David L. outlined some regrets lip service, without denying the practiced gestures which caused slight injuries.
The prosecutor showed no leniency towards the accused during his requisitions by emphasizing his inability to put himself finally on the right path of reintegration.
Convicted, he sleeps in prison again
Maître Meier-Mirman recalled that the victim agreed to accommodate his companion upon his release from prison in all conscience.
“This story is very similar to a mutual dependenceless caricatured than the presentation that was made,” she recalled.
David L. was sentenced to eight months' imprisonment, four of which were suspended accompanied by a deposit warrant.
David L. did not flinch when the president of the court read the deliberations, as he is very accustomed to judicial hearings. He sleeps in a cell again from Fleury-Mérogis prison.
