He cycles from Puy-de-Dôme to Carentan to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease

Leaving Vic-le-Comte in Puy-de-Dôme, Luc Veyssière pedal to Carentan (Manche) for raise awareness and support Alzheimer’s patients and caregivers.

“It was an incredible trip with wonderful encounters, an excellent welcome at each stage and in the nursing homes where I stopped” indicated Luc Veyssière upon his arrival in Carentan, Friday afternoon after six days of cycling in autumnal or even winter weather conditions.

Art therapy workshops

The objective of this journey was to travel these 720 km to meet people affected or not by the disease from which a member of their family suffers, Alzheimer “whose research is progressing but not fast enough for all those who suffer from it “. The trip also made it possible to create social bonds in the structures visited, including three nursing homes “where art therapy workshops and activities focused on memory were organized”.

The journey was made with at least six months of preparation, “we took as many greenways and secondary roads as possible”. The cycle tourist was accompanied by logistics provided by members of his family “but the mind is also important to complete the challenge”.
