Tomorrow will be an important day for all French people who were devastated by the destruction of the roof of Notre-Dame de cathedral by the flames since it will correspond to the seventh and last of the seven site visits by the President of the Republic of one of the monuments the most emblematic of Paris.

Emmanuel Macron will pay tribute this Friday, November 29 to the teams who restored the cathedral. A final site visit before its grand reopening on December 7.

Around a hundred companies involved

“This trip will be an opportunity to unveil the rebuilt cathedral, whose splendor will be revealed in its entirety, and to discover the tremendous work carried out by all the craftsmen, restorers, architects, engineers and technical teams over the past five years,” indicate state services.

To rebuild the building whose roof was devoured by flames on April 15, 2019 following a violent fire, more than 110 companies were used in the four corners of but also in Belgium.

The 5th generation of marble workers and sculptors

There are only four of them in Hauts-de-France. Among the mobilized craftsmen, two companies from Oise (a department which largely mobilized its wood sector to rebuild the spire of the building) rolled up their sleeves, Gouvieux and Bonneuil-en-Valois.

Custodian of family know-how, Bourson father and son has been operating since 1901 near Chantilly. For five generations, these stone cutters, beneficiaries of the “living heritage company” (EPV) label, have been faithful to their motto “a stone for each building”, and present themselves as “a family business of marble workers and sculptors”.

“We are strong on ancestral know-how coupled with the use of the technological innovations of our century,” she writes on her site.

As for the company Horcholle et filswhose headquarters is located in the heart of the Vallée de l’Automne, it presents itself as an artisanal company “specializing in the renovation of old buildings”.

The president's site visit tomorrow to Notre-Dame will therefore be an opportunity for everyone to see the progress of the construction of this monument. at the heart of more than 850 years of history of France and to admire the prowess of the two Isarian companies.
