In La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée), the organic market gardener of the cooperative third place Village de la Vergne lost several of its greenhouses during the passage of storm Caetano. He expressed his dismay in a message posted on social networks this Saturday, November 23, 2024, reports The Yonnais Country Journal.

“Four greenhouses unusable at the moment”he notably indicated, referring to a year 2024 « difficile ». Losses linked to vegetables, which have little chance of surviving the cold, are estimated at 2,000 euros.

Solidarity movement

To help him, an online prize pool was launched by the La Salade association. This Thursday, November 28, a little more than 2,200 euros had already been collected. These donations will be used to purchase greenhouse covers, restore structures or even new irrigation lines in the greenhouses.
