A new study from Preply offers a ranking of Christmas markets based on monthly searches carried out by Internet users in France. Unsurprisingly, the Grand Est dominates the ranking. Using online search data, we've compiled a ranking of the most popular Christmas markets in France, revealing which ones attract the most visitors in the run-up to the holidays

Alsace: the undeniable capital of Christmas in France. With 16,000 searches for Strasbourg and 7,700 for Alsace Christmas market
, Alsace confirms its position as an emblematic region for the end of year festivities
underlines Preply. Rennes stands out with 14,000 searches. Hauts-de-France stands out for the appeal of markets such as those of Amiens (12,000 searches) and Arras (9,600 searches), which combine authenticity and friendly festivities
. Paris and its surroundings are highly sought after with 13,000 searches for Paris and 7,100 for the Tuileries market.
Next come large cities: Toulouse, Reims, Metz, Barcares, Grenoble, Bordeaux, la Garde… Nantes is ranked only in 16th position with 3,000 searches.
