In a press release addressed to our editorial staff, the left-wing environmentalist and citizen group which sits within the departmental assembly condemns the irresponsible choice of silence made by several local elected officials from the right and the center the day after the first round of legislative elections. We, the elected representatives, have decided to resist. To resist the nationalist peril that is looming by recalling that no society can be built on exclusion, discrimination, and the setting of some against others. write Chantal Brillaud and Dorick Barillot, the two co-presidents.

“Without paternalism or domination”

We firmly believe in a united and protective Republic and will continue this fight within the departmental assembly of which we are members. In prudence, without paternalism or domination, we support the left-wing candidates present in the second round and call for the mobilization of all to block the extreme right in the ballot boxes on July 7.
