At the gates of the prefecture, in Gap, members of the FDSEA and Young Farmers (JA) of Hautes-Alpes hung nearly 300 road signs this Wednesday, November 27.
An impressive collection of entry and exit signs from the communes which did not fail to appeal to passers-by intrigued by the good-natured agitation which reigned.
The demonstration organized by the two professional unions, which took place in a national context, was the third episode in an autumn of demands formulated for a long time, but not satisfied by the government.
A wink from the breeders
Guillaume, a breeder, had taken 45 sheep and 5 protection dogs, patous, placed in an improvised enclosure in front of the entrance to the prefecture.
Other protection dogs were also present, carrying a “State Agent” sign on their necks, a reference to the compulsory presence of these dogs to guard the herds, whose kibble is paid for by the nation.
The Young Farmers constitute a particularly motivated union movement at the moment. A group of them went to build a chipboard wall, trowel in hand, in front of the office of the French Observatory of Biodiversity (OFB), judged as “preventers from going around in circles“, in the circumstances”to practice our profession” justified a farmer.
