Hurepoix is a little-known region of Île-de-France wedged between the Seine, Brie, Beauce and the forest.

It is also a place that can be flown over, as proof, the Salis flying museum in Cerny (Essonne), which brings together many models of aircraft from the last century, still in working order and above all, historical. Among them, the first plane to fly over the Andes and the first plane to cross the English Channel.

In the hangar you can also find machines used for war, tourism or transport and almost all classified as historical monuments. For the more daring, flights and piloting are offered, at the helm of these ancestors of aviation.

From up there, you might be able to see the watercress fields of Mikaël Morizot, owner of the oldest watercress farm in the department. This semi-aquatic plant keeps its feet in spring water and grows in peat although its leaves remain in the open air.

Mikaël is a traditional cressicultur and therefore harvests all his herbs by hand, with his feet in the peat bog: “Since the 19th century, they have been the same gestures”. You can also sometimes find this watercress not far from there, at the Halles de Dourdan.

After a short walk on the banks of the Barley, head to an atypical inn run by two Australians and its unusual vegetable garden, the products of which you will find on your plate.

Other places and meetings await you this Sunday at 12.55 on France 3 Île-de-France and in replay on france.tv/idf
