CF Montreal: Félix Samson has been invited to the 2024 MLS NEXT Rising Stars Game

CF Montreal Academy defender Félix Samson has been invited to the 2024 MLS NEXT All-Star Game to be played at Historic Crew Stadium on Tuesday, July 23, in Columbus, Ohio.

The Montreal defender was selected from a list of 44 rising stars from the league who will take part in this third edition of the event.

Samson, 16, played with the Academy’s U17 team, which plays in MLS NEXT, as a right central defender.

“Felix’s nomination for this All-Star Game is well-deserved following the season he has just had,” said Academy U17 head coach Maxime Leconte. “Since his arrival, he has shown significant progress to become a key player in our group. He quickly took his place in the structure as a leader. He sets an example in his actions, but also through his discipline on and off the field. We are very happy that he can have this experience for his development.”

The players were selected by the MLS NEXT Player Selection Committee, which is comprised of key members of MLS’s player development department, following the conclusion of the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase event.

To be eligible, players must be under 18 years of age and have participated in one of MLS NEXT’s national events this season, including MLS NEXT Fest, MLS NEXT Flex, Generation adidas Cup and MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase.
