On November 9, seven young people from the Local Missions of Nîmes Métropole, Petite Camargue and Alès Pays Cévennes headed to Barcelona for a six-week Erasmus+ internship experience.
« These internships, which cover varied fields such as early childhood, education, animal care, administration, sewing and sales, offer a unique opportunity for professional and personal development internationally. » explains Monika Oszmaniec, professional mobility project manager.
The young people are already delighted with the start of their project. According to one of them, “ Barcelona is an incredible city » and they adapt little by little to the new routine and the new way of life.
The Maison de l'Europe in Nîmes organized all the logistics of this project with the help of the Spanish partner, NEXES, who found both suitable internship locations and host families to guarantee a stay immersive and enriching. Departure training was put in place to prepare for mobility and allow young people to meet each other. Linguistic preparation in Spanish was also essential.
This project funded by Erasmus+ and the Occitanie Region allows young people to have practical experience abroad while improving their linguistic and professional skills. The feedback has already been very positive, and this experience promises to mark a turning point in their professional and personal journey.
For Monika Oszmaniec, professional mobility project manager, “ We can't wait to follow their adventure and see the impact of this mobility on their future! » The group returns to France on December 22, the assessment will take place on Thursday January 9 at the Maison de l'Europe.
