This July 6, for the 6th edition, there will be 500 runners from 37 departments taking part in the TDF in Barèges.

When four women from Bordeaux, passionate about trail running in the great outdoors, discovered the Montagne Fleurie above Barèges, they fell in love with it. This is when a dream was born that they never stop trying to achieve.

They created the Biches & Run association to launch the Trail des Fleurs in 2018, in partnership with the municipalities of Barèges and Sers. At the time, there was a 13km course for 162 participants. The following year, a second course was created.

A complete TDF

This July 6, for the 6th edition, there will be 500 runners from 37 departments. Registrations have been full for several months. Last year the average age was 37 with 40% women.

So two routes: the 13km with 750 D+ in the Montagne Fleurie sector, the 22km, very technical, with 1450 D+ in the Ayré, Colas, Lumière and Montagne Fleurie sectors.

A new feature: “This year we are taking inspiration from the Olympic Games by creating a relay race with 16 pairs who will take the first part of the 22km with a 10km relay for the first runner and 12 for the second.”

The start will be from Barèges at 8:00 a.m. for the 22km and 8:30 a.m. for the 13km. Arrivals in Sers at St Justin. Prize-giving at 12:30 p.m., festive meal at 7:30 p.m.
The Trail des Fleurs aims to be a human, friendly and eco-responsible event.

“It’s a time for sharing and celebration. Friends, families and colleagues of the competitors are welcome. There will also be a team challenge to reward the athletes who trained together.”

This trail has been labeled Eco-Trail by the Trail Runner Foundation. “We organize carpools, raise awareness among runners about respecting the environment, avoid the new Ayré wildlife and hunting reserve on our route. Our markings are reusable, we only use ecocups, and distribute wooden medals. Finally, any participant who leaves waste in Nature is disqualified.”

The competitors were always unanimous: “A team of enthusiasts who give you the mountain trail bug… A great festive and sporty day… A friendly, generous and family atmosphere…”
