According to e-Enfance, the online child protection association, one in five children is a victim of cyberbullying in France, while 36% of children aged six to 18 have faced harassment (insults, mockery, shoving, etc.). A rate increasing since 2023.
This worrying situation has pushed Orange and the national gendarmerie to set up the operation “All together against harassment” last November 8, at Esbly, near Meaux. Employees of the mobile telephone operator and representatives of the group of Seine-et-Marne gendarmerie thus animated workshops raising awareness of the digital world among CM1 students from two schools in the town.
This device followed the campaign against harassment broadcast on the Gulli channel last month and in which other children from Esbly took part.
A telephone number against harassment
“I am delighted to be able to work with the town of Esbly and the Seine-et-Marne gendarmerie to to raise awareness children to the good uses of digital technology and the fight against harassment and cyberharassment“, confided Frédéric Le Jan, Orange director of relations with local authorities in Seine-et-Marne.
“In a world of more and more connected where children are confronted very early with the internet and social networks, they must understand what bullying is in its digital form. It is important to inform them, raise awareness and dialogue with them“, underlined, for her part, Séverine Guillemet, head of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) department within the Île-de-France department of Orange.
Please note that there is a telephone number (30 18), as well as a application (that of the e-Enfant association, available on mobile or tablet) dedicated to situations of harassment. These services are
