As early as 4 p.m., the start time of the festivities, many people were there. Every year, the city of Cowansville does not fail to celebrate Canada Day.
“It has always been part of the traditions and the council wants us to maintain the celebration,” says Anouchka Pincince, director of recreation and culture for the city of Cowansville.
“The English-speaking community is strong in the region, that must play a role in the feeling that surrounds this celebration,” adds Patricia Néron, events coordinator for the city of Cowansville.
Inflatable games, circus initiation, show by the MAC3 duo and fireworks were on the menu for the occasion.
“It’s a family event and people also came to enjoy the beach and the water games […] “There are also cotton candy kiosks, candy, Coupola wood-fired pizza, Tite Frette beer and Sage Brasseur. That’s pretty good for our activities today,” adds Ms. Perron.
Several families were already there to enjoy the water games but also ready for the MAC3 show which was scheduled for 7 p.m.
“We’re taking advantage of the day and staying for the show tonight. We’re from Brigham and the area is Canada Day right here,” said Diane Gibson, who was there with her partner and two daughters.
A dream come true
The music group MAC3, which provided the evening’s entertainment for the event, has been playing together for about thirty years. MAC means “Morin à Côté”.
“It’s my music and his music, we put it together,” explains Stéphane Morin, a member of the group.
Also a couple in life, Sylvie Côté and Stéphane Morin intended to “raise the party” for the occasion.
“Tonight, we’re playing everything. Everything that people like and that will make them dance! We want to get the world on board!”

They also specified that they were going to play “Les bombes” by Michel Pagliaro in connection with what is happening in the world.
Through their beautiful complicity, the duo who live in Cowansville, have a varied musical repertoire ranging from Céline Dion, Ginette Reno to the Rolling Stones, Bryan Adams and the 80s.
“Tonight is a dream come true. We can vary our music and make people dance!”
