Second week of farmers' actions. Monday, November 25, the Rural Coordination arranged to meet its members from Hauts-de-France, in Arras (Pas-de-Calais), after Amiens last week.
Around 10 a.m., farmers converged on 4 strategic roundabouts in the city, in Dainville, Tilloy-les-Mofflaines, Sainte-Catherine and Parc des Bonnettes. Rural coordination opens the ball for this week of mobilization with the theme of the standards and obstacles that weigh on the agricultural world. During the first week of mobilization, the Mercosur agreements were at the heart of their concerns. The FNSEA and the Young Farmers have planned actions for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Then the backfiring procession headed towards the Prefecture. Well guarded, the members of the 2nd agricultural union of Hauts-de-France were unable to approach the scene.
They dumped four skips of straw, manure and pallets. Among their demands, the dissolution of the French Biodiversity Office, which they accuse of punishing them too much during their controls on farms.
Emmanuel Wynands, union leader of the Hauts-de-France Rural Coordination, says: “The watchword of Rural Coordination is no violence, no damage, we put on the road properly what is most useful to us on the farms, without violence.”
Around 12:30 p.m., the representatives of the Rural Coordination were to be received by the Prefect. A state representative from whom they intend to ask for answers to the numerous letters that they claim have remained unanswered.
An agricultural world which demonstrates in a dispersed order, but united in its desire to maintain pressure on the government.
