The Accueil emploi association had several news to share, Friday November 15, 2024, at the town hall of Coutances (Manche). First, it has put a small Citroën Ami car into service for its beneficiaries since Wednesday November 20.
Accueil emploi, which must now be called Accueil Mobility, allows those who do not have the means to obtain a driving license or to have means of transport to go to work or to appointments medical or to do their shopping using a fleet of vehicles. In addition to the cart, they operate a network of three shuttles and lend five scooters and as many electric bikes.
Daily transportation
242 users took advantage of it in the territory of the communities of COCM (Côte Ouest Center Manche) and CMB (Coutances Mer et bocage) in 2023, compared to 192 in 2024.

These transport solutions allowed a person to make the daily round trip between Coutances and a campsite in The Hague to go to work during the tourist season, for example. “The problem of mobility is always cited by people who experience difficulties with social and professional reintegration, explains Maude Gravey, director of the association. Along with housing, it is an obstacle to access to employment. »
The association received the sum of €46,000 from the State. It was also selected among several aid and mobilization organizations for the vulnerable public to receive a grant of nearly €150,000 from the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
