A man enthusiastically celebrates Canada Day in Ottawa.

Red and white adorned the streets of Ottawa on Monday as tens of thousands of people gathered to celebrate Canada Day in the federal capital.
The national festivities were launched at 12 p.m. and shows, activities and fireworks are planned until the evening, particularly at Parc des Plaines-LeBreton.
Celebrations were also held in Gatineau, in several Ottawa neighbourhoods and in eastern Ontario.
