In the second constituency of Nièvre, the second round of the early legislative elections will pit Julien Guibert, candidate of the National Rally, who came first in the first round with 44.82% of the vote, against Christian Paul, PS candidate invested by the New Popular Front, second with 26.32% of the vote.

Sandra Germain, who represented the presidential majority and had won 20.44% of the vote, announced her withdrawal to block the RN.
With 20.44%, I can choose to stay, particularly in light of the many discussions I have had on the ground. But after careful consideration and consultation with my supporters, after reading the results, and not being able to resign myself to the election of a National Rally MP in Nièvre, I have taken the responsibility of deciding not to stay in the second round.
Call to vote for Christian Paul
Unambiguously, Sandra Germain calls for a vote for Christian Paul. “I hope that Nièvre will continue to benefit from two deputies who respect the values of the Republic, obviously Perrine Goulet in constituency 1, and the candidate Christian Paul in constituency 2. I therefore call on the people of Nièvre to mobilize and go and vote for these two candidates on July 7, in the face of the danger of the irresponsible, inapplicable and unrealistic solutions of the National Rally.”
