As already indicated by La Presse de la Manche, the Rural coordination of La Manchenewly chaired by Yannick Bodin, signed “a punchy action” the Sunday November 24, 2024 in the evening in Avranches.
A sixty activists unloaded full trailers in front of the sub-prefecturethe tax centerthe MSA, the delivery entrance to the E.Leclerc center. They also stopped refrigerated trucks and checked their loads. This action ended around 2 a.m. Monday.
Coutances, Saint-Lô, Granville, Cherbourg…
The CR50 also announces an upcoming action against the L214 association in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. But “before that, this Tuesday (November 26)it will be the OFB and Manche nature in Coutances” which will be targeted, announces Yannick Bodin.
The CR50 troops will then meet this Tuesday evening at the E.Leclerc center in Agneaux before going into action in Saint-Lô in front of the prefecture, the tax center and the MSA headquarters.
The FDSEA and Young Farmers too
THE FDSEA and Young Farmers of La Manche will also take action again, the Wednesday November 27in controlling the origin of products in Manchoise RHD (out-of-home catering) through three central kitchens: that of the schools of Cherbourg-en-CotentinRené-Le-Bas space that of the collective catering GIP of Center Manche in Saint-Lô, to that of Granville.
On Monday, November 18, they brought three (real) construction site radars to the Corniche road in Barneville-Carteret in order to, symbolically, monitor import arrivals coming from Mercosur countries by sea.
Regarding this second action, the FDSEA and JA de la Manche explain:
The quality of French agricultural products is a known and recognized asset. Our French agricultural production is sufficiently diverse to meet the multiple expectations of consumers: conventional products meeting high requirements, differentiated products and under official quality signs, farm products sold in shorter circuits, etc. The European and national regulatory obligations that must be respected by farmers are among the strictest in the world and guarantee a high level of safety for the consumer. The Egalim law requires a minimum of 50% of quality, sustainable products to be supplied to out-of-home catering, including at least 20% of organic products. But also, the implementation via ambitious territorial food programs (PAT), open to all agricultural systems, fair remuneration for the qualitative efforts of farmers, complete and reliable information on the traceability aspect and origin of products on the both fresh and processed products.
THE two unions also ask “to the state to ensure that all RHD players respect this law, before daring to think of flooding our territory with products coming from Mercosur countries. »
“An unprecedented mobilization” of the Peasant Confederation
And let's remember that the Manche Peasant Confederation has planned an action on Thursday November 28at the E.Leclerc center in Agneaux.
According to Aurélien Marion, co-spokesperson it will be “ an unprecedented mobilization full of surprises […] pour denounce the consequencesof the free trade agreements which weaken our farmers and endanger food sovereigntyof our country. »
“The peasants of the Peasant Confederation will take a stand to a sustainable agricultural model respectful of the environmentand the public health. This mobilization will be an opportunity to show that these agreements can cost local agriculture and the values of our country,” assures the Manche Peasant Confederation.
Let us remember that thenext Chambers of Agriculture elections will take place at the end of January 2025which inevitably fuels the fire.
