Over two days, 6,783 kg of products and foodstuffs were collected in six stores in the town of Mayenne by volunteers, Friday November 22 and Saturday November 23, 2024, on the occasion of the national food bank collection.

“It’s a great result, with an increase of 10% compared to 2023 (6,003 kg), underlines Philippe Lambert, president of the Mayenne social grocery store, managed by the Mayenne association for integration (Ami). Thank you to all donating customers. »

Around 70 volunteers

At the end of the week, around 70 volunteers were present in six stores in the town. They come from the social grocery store, the Rotary club, Secours catholique, Emmaüs, the Red Cross or the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul society, in addition to the Don-Bosco school complex.

Companies provided vehicles to transport the products to the Laval Food Bank. They will be redistributed to various associations, including the social grocery store.
