RCMP are advising residents in the Shippagan area to expect an increased police presence Monday as they continue their search for a missing Shippagan woman.

Officers from the Northeast District RCMP, RCMP specialized policing services such as the Police Dog Service (PDS), RCMP Air Services and local ground search and rescue teams are conducting a search for Guylaine Dugas.

Police are also asking residents to check their properties for any signs of the missing woman or any items that appear to be out of place.

Guylaine Dugas was last seen on June 30, 2024, around 1 p.m., walking west near a gas station on 1st Street in Shippagan. She was reported missing to police the same day. Police have followed up on several tips to try to locate her, but have not yet been successful. Police and her family are concerned about her.

Ms. Dugas is described as being about 5 feet 5 inches (165 centimeters) tall and weighing about 200 pounds (91 kilograms). She has blue eyes, short gray hair and wears glasses. She was last seen wearing a beige shirt and beige pants with a glittery pattern on the bottom.
