Who did the French people of Toronto vote for in the first round?

The first round of early legislative elections took place this Saturday in Toronto as in the rest of Canada. In total, 4,809 votes were cast out of 12,947 registered people, representing a vote rate of 36.56% (excluding the 65 blank votes and the 11 spoiled ballots). The vast majority of votes were cast online, or 3,852 votes.

The second round will be held on July 6, 2024 for the American continent and the Caribbean. Online voting will be possible from Tuesday July 2 until Thursday July 4.

Who did the French in Toronto vote for?

As is the case for the overall votes of the 1st constituency (United States/Canada), Roland Lescure (Together) came out on top in the vote with 1,886 votes cast (39.21%) and was joined in the second round by Oussama Laraichi (New Popular Front) with 1705 votes (35.45%).

For the 1st constituency of French people abroad overall, 93,630 people voted out of the 265,932 people registered, representing a participation rate of 35.21%. Roland Lescureoutgoing deputy (Renaissance) came first, followed byOussama Laraichi, candidate of the New Popular Front.
