At the Relais solidaires, the program will be rich and festive this summer with, to start, a Rockin’Sun concert (July 5), a band that pays homage to the origins of rock’n’roll and the rockabilly of the 50s and 60s . On the menu: covers of Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran or Buddy Holly. The next day, head to Rio de Janeiro with a choro roda and samba. The following week, it’s time for the DJ set at La Louuve (July 12) which will feature punchy twists between raï, North African electro and ethno-gnawa. Oriental music again on July 19 with Kenzi Bourras, noted alongside Rachid Taha and co-pilot of the Acid Arab project. A sound whiz who will take us off with his machines – synth, turntables… – in his electro-raï-techno-dabké-hip hop universe.
Vibrations positives
The Dionysian association Art’Press Yourself (APY), which spreads all the positive vibrations of urban Africa and highlights emerging artists in fashion, music, fooding and Afro-Caribbean culture, will organize, from July 26 to 28 and from August 9 to 11, two mini-festivals. On the program? Workshops (customization of accessories, embroidery, etc.), exhibitions, concerts, one man shows, DJ sets and Afro-Caribbean dishes.
The restaurant on rue Victor-Hugo will finally offer open turntable evenings for all newbies who feel the DJing bug rising in them, while at La Friche, the new third place in Sept-Arpents, yoga, salsa, sophrology, urban agriculture, foreign language workshops will be organized, etc.
