In Sarthe, the republican front has no lead in his wing.

Whether they come from New Popular Front orEnsemble/presidential majority, all the candidates who came in third place in the 5 constituencies of the department have announced their withdrawal to oppose the National Rally.

1st constituency: “Do not give a single vote to the RN”, Ghislaine Bonnet (NFP)

Ghislaine Bonnetcandidate of the New Popular Front in the 1st constituency of Sarthe, announced the withdrawal of her candidacy for the second round of voting. “I invite the Sarthe voters who voted for me not to not give a single vote to the RN”she announced in a statement.

The left-wing candidate obtained 25.01% of the votes; behind the RN represented by Céline de Cossé-Brissac (33.6% of the votes) and the outgoing Ensemble deputy Julie Delpech (30.84%).

In the 2nd constituency, it is the UDI candidate Samuel Chevallier, supported by the presidential majority, which announced its withdrawal. If he doesn’t give no voting instructions to voters, he explained that he would vote personally pour Marietta Karamanli (New Popular Front) despite his differences with the outgoing MP.

The candidate obtained 23.09% of the votes; behind the outgoing MP Marietta Karamanli, who received 39.95% of the votes cast and François Fèvre (LR/RN alliance) credited with 35.29% of the votes.

Coming in third position (18.57% of the votes) in the 3rd constituency of Sarthe, Mathilde Jackcandidate of the New Popular Front, also calls for blocking the far right.

“We are calling to vote for the outgoing MP Eric Martineauin order to prevent the RN from gaining power,” she explained to our colleagues at Courier-L’Echo. “I hope that the Republican front will work. »

The outgoing MP came in second place with 29.17% of the vote, behind Romain Lemoigne, RN candidate, who obtained 42.55% of the vote.

4th constituency: “A three-way race would be doomed to failure”, Sylvie Casenave-Péré (Ensemble)

At the start of the day, this Monday, July 1, Sylvie Casenave-Péré (Ensemble), who came in 3rd position, 35 votes behind Élise Leboucher (New Popular Front), called on the latter to withdraw.

At midday, she finally announced the withdrawal of her candidacy: “I could stay in the second round, but a triangular one would be doomed to fail“A decision taken despite being “convinced that she has a better chance of winning a duel against Mrs Le Pen”. She does not give any voting instructions.

In the constituency, it was Marie-Caroline Le Pen who took the lead with 39.26% of the votes, leaving Élise Leboucher and Sylvie Casenave-Péré neck and neck (25.94% of the votes against 25, 88%).

5th constituency: “Our common goal is to beat the RN beyond political differences”, Christophe Rouillon (NFP)

From Sunday evening, Christopher Rouilloncandidate of the New Popular Front, announced his withdrawal to make dam on the far right.

He calls for voting for “the candidate of the republican arch», namely Jean-Carles Grelier, Ensemble candidate. “Our common goal is to beat the RN beyond political differences. »

The candidate of the left-wing union won 26.67% of the vote; behind Pierre Vaugarny (RN) who won 38.23% of the vote and the outgoing deputy Jean-Carles Grelier who won 31.28% of the vote.
