Hospitalized in absolute emergency, a second victim died

In a press release issued on Monday, July 1, the JIRS announced: “One of the victims of the shootings that occurred in Thionville during the night from Saturday to Sunday, hospitalized yesterday in a state of absolute emergency, is died today. This therefore brings the number of deaths following the shootings to two.”

Regarding the injured, two other victims had initially been hospitalized in a state of absolute emergency. According to the JIRS, their vital prognosis is no longer in jeopardy.

“Heavily armed” men opened fire

As a reminder, the events took place at the Eden Palace during the organization of a wedding. About a hundred people were on the scene.

A police source explained toAFP that a group of individuals went out to smoke in front of the room around 1:15 a.m. At that time, three men “heavily armed” arrived in a 4×4 and “opened fire several dozen times in their direction.”
