The Agency for the Promotion and Development of the North (APDN) has announced a call for tenders for the rehabilitation, restoration and revaluation works of Borj Saadiyine (Hisn Al-Fath) in Larache, with a budget of approximately 36 million dirhams (MDH).

This call for tenders, launched in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and whose bids are scheduled to open on July 24, aims to carry out the work of sanitation, protection and reinforcement of the cliff, restoration and consolidation of the tower, waterproofing, coating, wood and metal joinery, exterior lighting and sanitary plumbing, as well as fire protection, exterior development, painting and treatment of the facades.

Borj Saadyine was a military site built in a strategic location overlooking the sea and the Loukkos Valley. The tower is distinguished by its magnificent architecture inspired by the Italian military school.

The tower is said to have been built during the time of the Wattassids, before undergoing major extension work by Sultan Ahmad Al-Mansour Addahabi, after the battle of Oued Al Makhazine.

The Borj Saadyine rehabilitation and revaluation project, financed as part of a partnership between the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the municipality of Larache, is in addition to the projects to protect and strengthen the cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on Casablanca Avenue in Larache over a distance of nearly 220 meters, with a budget of approximately 75 million dirhams.

This area also benefits from the Larache Corniche development project, carried out with an envelope of 35 MDH, within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry of National Land Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy and the municipality of Larache, which will contribute to the strengthening of basic infrastructure, the attraction of investments and the promotion of this tourist destination.
