A “worrying sexual predator” incarcerated for rapes in Seine-et-Marne: other victims sought

These are two different complaints, filed in the heart of summer, which may have made it possible to put an end to an individual at the particularly worrying profile… A 50-year-old man was arrested by the gendarmerie, Tuesday November 19, 2024, at his mother's home, in Donnemarie-Dontilly (Seine-et-Marne). He is accused of rapesincluding incestuous and sexual assault.

A man accused of 11 rapes and sexual assaults

It all starts with a first complaint, filed with the Donnemarie-Dontilly brigade community. A woman comes before the police to report rape and sexual assault that she allegedly suffered from a neighbor when she was a minor. The military immediately opened an investigation.

Shortly after, a second wife goes to the police station. She indicates having been raped by her fatherwhen she was a minor. Important detail: it turns out that the man implicated in these new facts is the same as the one targeted by the first complaint…

The investigations, carried out by the Group's investigators targeting people from the gendarmerie, will reveal a series of another magnitude. So, nine additional victims – eleven in total – were identified and interviewed as part of the investigation. The acts were all allegedly committed in Seine-et-Marne, between 1991 and 2012.

Placed in police custody, the fifty-year-old allegedly admitted to some of the rapes and sexual assaults with which he is accused. “He is a possible predator with a very worrying profile,” indicates a source close to the case. The psychological examination which was carried out reveals a potential risk of recidivism. »

Other victims sought

“All the victims who were interviewed are minors and part of the family circle, or the neighborhood,” continues this same source. Given the complexity of the facts, a judicial information was opened for rape, rape of minors and corruption of minors, we learned from the Melun public prosecutor's office, contacted by The Republic of Seine-et-Marne.

As part of the investigation, the defendant was placed in pre-trial detention at Fresnes prison (Val-de-Marne). The investigations must in particular make it possible to determine whether other acts could have been committed and to find other potential victims.
