Fratricidal war – While the official LFI candidates refuse to withdraw in favor of the dissidents, the dissident Raquel Garrido says she is ready to do so
Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s ears must be ringing. The LFI dissidents did better than the officials and things are grating for the withdrawals. “Logic would dictate that the second on the left withdraws, I am ready,” declared Raquel Garrido on TF1.
The outgoing MP (dissident LFI) from the 5th constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis came third in the first round of the legislative elections behind the candidate nominated by LFI and the UDI candidate. This Monday, she said she was ready to withdraw citing “a sense of responsibility”.

In this constituency bringing together the towns of Bobigny, Le Bourget and Drancy, the quarrels within La France insoumise and the dissident candidacy of Raquel Garrido led to two left-wing candidates claiming to be from the New Popular Front.
“I ask that everyone has a sense of responsibility,” she added, citing Sabrina Ali Benali (7th constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis), Allan Popelard (5th of Bouches-du-Rhône, triangular in the second tower) and Céline Verzeletti (15th from Paris).
