A 10-year-old girl was in cardiorespiratory arrest when she was rescued by firefighters in Furdenheim (Bas-Rhin) on Sunday November 24, 2024. A fire broke out in a house divided into several Airbnb apartments that she occupied with her family, reports France Blue Alsace .
After receiving first aid on site, she was transported to hospital in Strasbourg in an absolute emergency, in a coma.

According to France 3 Grand Est his parents were awakened by the fumes and jumped out of the window with three children. The 10-year-old victim was in the attic. The family of six is from Chaumont (Haute-Marne) and was staying in Alsace for the weekend.
The gendarmerie clarified to Latest News from Alsace that the fire had mobilized around fifty firefighters. The rest of the family was hospitalized because they were shocked by the events. In total, 19 people who were staying in the various Airbnb apartments were evacuated. An investigation was opened to determine the origin of the fire.
