As every year, the town hall of Fontaines has launched a call for applications from young people, in order to offer them a job during the summer period.

The choice of seasonal jobs is geared towards young Fontenois boys and/or girls who wish to join municipal teams for a few weeks, both in technical services and within the town hall, depending on staffing needs. The need is generally from the beginning of July to the end of August.

For the summer of 2024, the town of Fontaines will employ five young people aged 17 who were selected from among the ten candidates: four boys Mathys, Maxence, Timéo and Lilianall high school students in Chalon sur Saône, and a young girl Roman who is at the Lycée de Fontaines.

Nelly Meunier-Chanut mayor of the municipality and Guy Bugaud advisor received them this Saturday morning, June 29, to explain the schedules, the work, the conditions and to make the safety recommendations related to the positions they were going to occupy.

« Romane was the only female candidate to apply and she also has her driving license » said Madam Mayor, “ They will be spread over the two months of July and August, 2 boys until July 21, the young girl will finish at the end of July and the other 2 boys in August. ” added Guy Bugaud. « As a priority, they will be assigned to the redevelopment of the nursery school which has just been completely renovated. »

Other projects await them, painting in schools, occasional flowering needs, maintenance of flowerbeds and other small jobs with municipal employees. Young people will be subject to the same working hours and rules as people in municipal services. During their stay, the young people will be under the control of the technical services manager.

« The choice is not simple, but we choose according to needs and the positions to be replaced during the holidays to select the young people who will work for the municipality » explained Nelly Meunier-Chanut.

For these 5 young people, it is a first job which will allow them to earn a little money, to have a reference to put on their CV and at the same time, to carry out a great civic action. This Saturday morning, it was an important moment for them when they handed over their signed employment contract, a strong symbol of their commitment to the community.

Residents will be able to see them with technical agents on different construction sites.
