Cluzet, Cottin, Jaoui, Torreton… A generous 2024-2025 season at the Scènes du Golfe de Vannes-Arradon

The mind

The public will discover at the start of the school year a season built by Rozenn Le Bris, new director of Scènes du Golfe, since March 1st, in tandem with Olivier Leclair, her deputy. Fabien Le Guernevé, president of the structure, specified three imposed axes: maintaining continuity with previous seasons, ensuring gender parity and being attentive to sustainable development by offering in particular more sessions of the same show. There are thus 57 shows that are programmed for 99 performances.

Among the great personalities of this “multidisciplinary, equal and generous season”, the pair cites François Cluzet. “After more than twenty years of absence on the stage, it comes in May, directed by Emmanuel Noblet, one of our twelve accomplice artists”. A little before, in March, Camille Cottin will play the corrosive “Rendez-vous”, directed by Jonathan Capdevielle. As for big names, the Vannes-Arradon theater will also welcome Sophia Aram, Philippe Torreton, Agnès Jaoui, Richard Bohringer, Alain Chamfort and Camélia Jordana for March 8 around the “Divas of the Mediterranean”.

On March 1 and 2, the Scènes du Golfe will host one of the large-format shows of the season: “Bate fado” by Portuguese choreographers and performers Jonas & Lander. (Jose Caldeira)

Families I love you

This season is also intended to be family-friendly with large formats for the general public, like the opening show: “FIQ! (wake up!)” from the acrobatic group from Tangier which will take over the Palais des arts for three evenings in October. In this vein, before Christmas, the Taiwanese company B. Danse will revisit “Alice” and in January the illusionist Étienne Saglio will offer an extraordinary show. Family in its DNA, “Beau Dimanche” remains a seasonal event in January. On the other hand, Recess in schools is suspended. Rozenn Le Bris wishes to favor creations by “accomplice artists”.

On January 9 and 10, Étienne Saglio will present his new creation between circus and magic: “Towards Metamorphoses”. (Benjamin Guillement)

New writings

The programming makes room for “new stage writing”. Thanks to these proposals which mix disciplines, Rozenn Le Bris hopes to convince “publics who might not feel concerned by what happens in a theater like this”. The arrival of Gaël Faye, not for a concert but for a slam conversation with the Cameroonian poet Marc Alexandre Oho Bambe (accomplice artist) is part of this desire. Just like the cartoon concert of jazz drummer Anne Pacéo with comic book author Cyril Pedrosa. Or the revisiting of David Bowie’s cult album, “Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars”, by the singer and musician, Léonie Pernet. “It will also be a festive season” assures the pair. The fence, outside the walls, under the name “Gulf Stream” will shine a spotlight on the new Breton scene, while keeping it open internationally.

On April 29 and 30, Gaël Faye will be in Vannes for a slam versation with Alexandre Oho Bambe.

To your seats! At what price?

“Nothing is moving,” assures Rozenn Le Bris. Prices for shows will be identical to those for 23-24, including last minute tickets at €10. “The increase in financial contributions from Vannes and Arradon as well as state aid compensates for inflation,” explains Olivier Leclair, who recalls that ticketing represents 40% of the theater’s revenue.

This season, as part of Beau Dimanche en famille on January 19, “Ma couleur favoris” by writer Ronan Chéneau and director David Bobée offers a dive into a joyful kaleidoscope. (Arnaud Bertereau)
