Still struggling, Brazil failed to beat Colombia (1-1) on Tuesday in Santa Clara on the last day of the group stage of the Copa America.

The Seleçao will therefore meet Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay in a quarter-final that they will have to play without Vinicius Jr.

In this match at the top of Group D, Brazil failed to dominate Colombia, now unbeaten in 26 matches, condemning itself to 2nd place and a shock in the quarter-finals on Saturday in Las Vegas against Uruguay. A Celeste that comes out of a perfect group stage (three wins in three matches).

Brazil will also have to play without its leader Vinicius Jr., recent winner of the Champions League with Real Madrid, who was cautioned on Tuesday for the second time in the tournament and is therefore suspended for the next match. A very exaggerated little blow to the face by James Rodriguez earned a yellow card in the 7th minute.

Five minutes later, Raphinha found the Colombian right top corner with a sublime direct free kick (12th) to launch Brazil perfectly into a tough match (33 fouls). Ideally launched by Jhon Cordoba, Daniel Munoz was able to equalize for Colombia at the end of the first period (47th).

The Cafeteros were able to settle for a draw that assured them a quarter-final that was a priori more favorable against Panama on Saturday in Glendale. Condemned for its part to a large success combined with a defeat of Brazil, Costa Rica won in vain in the other match of the group against Paraguay (2-1).
