The first round of legislative elections anticipated, this Sunday June 30, 2024, confirmed the result of the European elections by placing the National Rally in the lead. In Sarthe, the far-right party came first in four of the five constituencies.

In Le Mans (which is part of four of the five constituencies), the vote was somewhat different since the votes went overwhelmingly to New Popular Front and to the candidates ofEnsemble.

A vote to the left

The New Popular Front candidates obtained a total of more than 40% of the votes expressed in Le Mans while the representatives of the presidential majority collected a little more 27% voices.

The far right collects 6.73% of the votes with the candidacy of Céline de Cossé Brissac which places the National Rally in third position (3759 votes). Next come Clement Coulon, Republican candidate (2.60% of the votes, 1454 votes) and Sylvie Mailletfor Workers’ Struggle (0.42% of the votes, 234 votes).

Le Mans-2nd constituency: Marietta Karamanli clearly in the lead

The outgoing MP Marietta Karamanlicandidate of the New Popular Front, obtained the most votes from the voters of Le Mans (2nd constituency). She collected 16.09% of the votes (8990). It is the LR/RN alliance represented by the candidacy of François Fevre which placed in second position with 8.90% of the votes (4970).

For his part, the UDI candidate Samuel Chevallier received the votes of 3,187 voters from Le Mans, or 5.71% of the votes. 329 votes (0.59% of the votes) went to Thomas Hubert, for Workers’ Struggle, and 91 votes (0.16% of the votes) for Clement Cheureta registered candidate who ultimately withdrew from the campaign.

Le Mans-4th constituency: Marie-Caroline Le Pen in 3rd place

In the Le Mans sector which is part of the 4th constituency of Sarthe, voters voted in favor ofElise Leboucher, candidate of the New Popular Front. The outgoing MP obtained 3041 votes (or 5.44% of the votes).

She is followed by the candidate wearing the colours of Ensemble, Sylvie Casenave-Perewhich was credited with 3.41% of the votes (1905) then Marie-Caroline Le PenRN candidate, who obtained 1701 votes (3.05%).

271 votes (0.49%) went to Léo BrisardLR candidate; 192 votes (0.34%) to Didier Barbet (various right), 93 votes (0.17% of the votes) to Lutte Ouvrière with the candidacy of Thierry Nouchy.and 27 votes (0.05%) to Jean-Michel Brugade (regionalist).

Le Mans-5th constituency: the left and Ensemble in front of the RN

On the part of Le Mans located in the 5th district of Sarthe, it is Christophe Rouillon, candidate of the New Popular Front, who came first by obtaining 5,752 votes (10.30%). He is ahead Jean-Carles Grelierwho carries the colours of the presidential majority. The latter received 4,321 votes (7.74%).

The candidate of the far-right party Pierre Vaugarny is just behind with 2847 votes and 5.10% of the votes. 320 voters (0.57% of the vote) voted for the Debout La France candidate, Cecile Bayle of Jesse and 149 (0.27% of the votes) in favor of Karine Fouquetcandidate of Lutte Ouvrière.
