Pierre-Hugues Fourage (NFP) – fifth constituency

The results were not yet final as Pierre-Hugues Fourage, candidate of the New Popular Front in the fifth constituency (Fontenay-le-Comte – Luçon), announced his withdrawal in the event of a triangular with the candidates of the National Rally and the majority presidential.

“The National Rally is in the lead, I am not playing with fire. We must block the RN, even if I have the means to maintain myself, I withdraw. » Asked to know if he calls for voting for the outgoing MP Pierre Henriet (Horizons), he did not comment, adding however “I do not endorse Pierre Henriet’s ideas but I know the difference between a political adversary and a political enemy. The RN is a political enemy and I cannot endorse it being the winner on July 7th.” The candidate also mentions “nauseating, homophobic and misogynistic remarks” during the campaign that he “cannot accept”.

Véronique Besse (Miscellaneous right) – fourth constituency

Véronique Besse, outgoing MP, came in first at the end of the first round with 39.31% of the votes. “I am satisfied and confident for the second round. I remain focused because we will have to transform the test next Sunday. »

Nicolas Hélary (NFP) – second constituency

Same scenario in the second district of Vendée. The candidate of the New Popular Front, Nicolas Hélary, announced his withdrawal “to block the RN”. The candidate, who came third (23.34% of the votes) during this first round behind candidate Marie-Christine Ebran (RN) and outgoing MP Béatrice Bellamy (Horizons), explained, even before the publication of the final results: “We cannot take the risk. I am withdrawing and calling for a blockade of the RN.” The candidate adds: “Personally, I will vote for Beatrice Bellamy.”

Marie-Christine Ebran (RN) – second constituency

Marie-Christine Ebran (RN) came second in the constituency of La Roche Sud-Talmont. “I’m keeping a cool head, it’s a first step. We will have to convince all week to achieve victory for the voters of the constituency who have given me their confidence. »

Concerning the decision of Nicolas Hélary (NFP), the third-placed candidate who is withdrawing “to block the RN”she reacts: “He is free to make his own choices and to have his own ideas. However, the people in the voting booth vote according to their conscience. I remain in line with my political party, that is to say purchasing power and security. Vendée Socialist Party

The Vendée section of the Socialist Party calls for blocking the RN. “The results of Sunday evening do not allow us to consider electing one of our representatives next Sunday,” reacted Sylviane Bulteau, first federal secretary of the Socialist Party in Vendée.
