Its production plant, located in the commune of Fourgs and whose head office is in , in the region, was founded in the 1950s and specializes in micromechanics. It was only in the 1980s, with the arrival of collective catering, that the tray entered the international scene. Employing around thirty people on the Fourgs site and around ten in the Paris region, this human-sized company focuses on promoting Made in France.

“In 1985, there was a bankruptcy filing and that’s when the Warnod family bought Platex. They are attached to their company and fight to keep it in its place and not opt ​​for the easy solution, relocation,” assures Thierry Droz-Vincent, director of the factory and employee at Platex for 36 years.

An already established reputation

From its workshops in Haut , the company is now extending its know-how internationally, exporting its products throughout the world: Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, the United States, Ireland, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. . And each destination has its own specificities.

“For our customers in the Middle East, the approaches are different since they are not going to look at the price, they want a product that is magnificent and luxurious,” says the latter. The objective being to strengthen the presence of Made in France beyond national borders. “We feel that this label has a lot of importance abroad,” smiles the factory director.

And although the destinations are numerous, the French market remains the majority. Particularly when it comes to collective catering. “Whether it’s schools, cafeterias or hospitals, it’s really our largest production volume. »

In addition to its commitment to Made in France, Platex has been committed to an eco-responsible approach for several years. “We have oriented our products a lot towards biosourced and recycled materials, and we already have a range which includes almost 50% biosourced resins made from plant waste. »
