VIDEOS – A little over two years ago, Delphine Daviet-Ropital's daughter was found dead in a trunk in front of a building in the 19th arrondissement in .

This story caused a stir in France. On October 14, 2022, Lola12 years old, was found dead in a trunk in front of her Parisian building in the 19th arrondissement. Two years later, Delphine Daviet-Ropitalthe little girl's mother, breaks the silence. She was invited to “It begins today” on France 2 at the beginning of November and was on the set of “C l’hebdo” on France 5 on Saturday evening.I'm very lucky, I have my son Thibault who is by my side, who helps me get up every morning (…) If he wasn't there, I might not be no longer there“, she testified to Aurélie Casse. She lost her husband at the beginning of the year, “who died of grief,” she said.

It is when she mentions Lola that the emotion is palpable and Delphine has difficulty holding back her tears. “She loved to please, she didn't know how to say no, it was a journey, she loved to live. She loved that we went camping every weekend.“, she recounts with sobs in her voice. “She was having a lot of fun, yes“, she continues before asking “pardon» for her tears.

As if to lighten the atmosphere, Christophe Hondelatte, also invited around the table, stops at Delphine Daviet-Ropital's nails which display Lola's first name. Just like tattoos on his arms. “She's always with me, all the time“, she confirmed. “I will always struggle without her but I will always have her there», she assures, placing her hand on her heart. “She's my mini-me and I miss her so much. It's very hard to live without her. We did everything together».

Then, Aurélie Casse returns to the day of the tragedy, the day before the school holidays. When around 3 p.m., Delphine doesn't see her daughter coming home from school, she has a bad intuition. “It wasn't his habit. Even though she didn't have her phone with her, Lola always found a way to contact me. That day I didn't get a call and I told myself that it wasn't normal“. She will then call the police, while her husband watches the surveillance videos of the building (the couple have been caretakers of the building for twenty years). “We see her enter the building after her classes but not come out», remembers Delphine Daviet-Ropital. “We searched everywhere, the basements, the upper floors and the police, I thank them, took me seriously straight away and arrived within fifteen minutes to search too».

The family learned of the horror around 11 p.m. “I collapse at the feet of the criminal's gentleman. My husband too. We don't believe it», the mother still remembers. The first question she asks investigators three days later is whether Lola suffered. “I was told she didn't suffer», she said, specifying that she did not know the suspect, Dahbia B., a 26-year-old Algerian national subject to an OQTF (obligation to leave French territory). “Apparently I refused him access to a badge“, she only indicates.

And to add: “I can't pinpoint what she did, I still can't say it out loud“. A trial must take place next year at the Assizes for “murder of a child under fifteen” and “rape with torture and barbaric acts”. “Even if the trial comes, we don't know if we will have all the answers», puts this mother into perspective. “We will always ask ourselves the question: “why Lola?”».
