She was expected. She kept all her promises. After a year 2023 without an edition, the waiters’ race made its comeback, this Sunday, June 30 in Saint-Brieuc, as part of the Chamboultout festival.

For this third edition, there were ten of them on the starting line to represent their respective establishments. With a simple objective, to do a course in the shortest possible time in the streets of the hypercentre. All while carrying a tray with three filled glasses: a wine glass, a soda glass, and a pint of beer. On each glass, two limits. If, at the finish, the liquid was below the first limit, the runner had 20 seconds of penalties. And 20 more below the second limit.

For a few centiliters

Carried by an enthusiastic crowd, and each with their own style, the ten participants competed to obtain the precious sesame for the final phase. This then saw Ethan, Martin and Xavier, who represented Father Moustache, Moodjo and the Golden Griffon, compete.

The result? Ethan crossed the finish line a handful of seconds before Martin. But it was the representative of Moodjo who finally won. The fault was a limit exceeded by his competitor from Père Moustache in one of his glasses. Ethan sees victory slipping away from him by a few centilitres. Here is Martin, the reigning champion. But, this Sunday, it was above all the pleasure of having a laugh together that won out.
