An evening to warm up while waiting for the start of the Tour

Gourmet and craft market from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Bike parade and fancy dress bike competition from 5:30 p.m.

For the first time, the City of Mâcon is organizing a costume bike competition with a parade through the heart of the city. Each participant will have to demonstrate creativity and inventiveness to make their bike the most beautiful and original of all, before parading to music through the streets of the city center. Indeed, two companies of artists will open the procession and lead it from its starting point to its arrival, the forecourt of the Halles Saint-Pierre. The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. for participants in the competition and at 6:15 p.m. for people wishing to take part only in the parade.

Participants will have to decorate their bikes on a theme related to the Tour de France. They can also dress up themselves if they wish. Originality will be the key to winning this competition. Helmets will be mandatory, as participants must be able to ride safely.

The competition is free and open to all. It has three categories: individual; family (children must be accompanied by an adult – two bikes minimum); group (friends, companies – four participants minimum per group).

To participate, you must register no later than Monday, July 1 at 5:00 p.m. using the online forms below:

The complete rules for the disguise competition are available at the link: rules for the disguised bicycle competition.

If you do not wish to participate in the competition, it is possible to join the procession from 6:15 p.m. in front of the Halles Saint-Pierre square.

Rock concert from 7:30 pm

To close the day, a “Nico Sarro” rock concert will liven up Place aux Herbes from 7:30 p.m.

Until July 21 – Urban exhibition

Among the multiple events organized by the City of Mâcon around the arrival of the Tour de France, an urban exhibition is visible until July 21. Free, it presents a retrospective of the multiple passages of the Great Loop in Mâcon based on archive images. This is carried out on 12 cubes of 1.5m x 2m distributed in several places in the city in order to allow all Mâconnais to benefit from it but also to invite them to go to other districts and public spaces.

They can therefore be discovered at the following locations: ECL Bioux (two cubes) – Media Library – Courtyard of the Town Hall – Place Genevès – Place de la Barre – Rue Saint-Nizier, side of the St-Pierre church – Résidence les Épinoches-Cerisaie, reception hall – Flacé, 81 rue de la liberté – Sennecé-les-Mâcon – Saint-Jean-le-Priche – Loché, in front of the town hall.

Adapted traffic on July 3 and 4

Traffic in the city center will be modified from Wednesday July 3. The traffic plan can be downloaded below.

In addition, and in order to better guide road users, traffic data has been transmitted and recorded on the Waze application, official partner of the Tour de France. It is also recommended to travel by bike or via the free TREMA shuttles (see the downloadable TREMA network map below). Two free and guarded bicycle parking lots will be offered to residents and tourists. One will be located on Place Genevès and the other in the Pavillon car park.
