Cyril Valat has just been elected head of the Aude pétanque and Provençal game committee until 2028. He succeeds Jean-Marie Chevassu.

The 73rd general assembly of the Aude pétanque and Provençal game committee has just taken place. President Jean-Marie Chevassu had arranged to meet all the presidents of the Aude clubs for his last meeting. Indeed, 2024 being an elective year at all levels within the FFPJP, the 4-year mandates were all renewable, including that of the Aude committee.

As the president and his entire team did not represent themselves, the pétanque players had to elect their new leaders for 4 years. Fourteen candidates had submitted their applications within the legal deadlines, including only one candidate for the position of doctor, who was automatically elected. The choice therefore had to be made among the 13 others for 11 places to be filled. 89 clubs were represented out of 106.

After the vote, President Jean-Marie Chevassu, in the presence of Ms. Navarro-Estalle, departmental councilor, and Mr. Valliere, mayor of Pépieux, congratulated all the members of the committee and all the people who, for 4 years, worked at his side to bring pétanque to life in the Aude region.

The general secretary William Navarro read the 2024 moral report with a special mention for the organization of the double French championship which took place in Castelnaudary in July and had been a great success on all points (sporting, organization and site ).

At the same time, the general treasurer Michel Guiraud read the 2024 financial report, which proved the good management of the departmental committee's accounts. All the commission presidents took turns drawing up their reports.

The president rewarded the best players of the season as well as the deserving leaders of the department, without forgetting the members of the steering committee for their dedication during these 4 years.

It was at the very end of the meeting that Mr. Boulet, head of the electoral commission, after a long count, announced the 11 new representatives of the steering committee for the next 4 years. The latter withdrew to elect their president, and it is Cyril Valat who will be at the head of the Aude committee until 2028.
