PSG goalkeeper Sergio Rico will not be retained by Paris Saint-Germain, France Bleu Paris learned this Friday from the player’s entourage. The Spaniard, under contract until June 30, will not be extended by PSG for next season.The former Sevilla FC goalkeeper was the club’s third goalkeeper before his near-death experience during aa terrible accident in May 2023.

He had been taken to the Virgen del Rocio hospital in Seville on May 28, 2023, suffering from a craniocerebral trauma after a horse accident at the pilgrimage of El Rocio, in Andalusia. The Spanish international (one selection) will have played 24 matches in all competitions under the Parisian colours and won two French championship titles, two French Cups and a Champions Trophy. He also contributed to the Parisian adventure until the Champions League final in 2020, playing the end of the quarter-final against Atalanta Bergamo and the entirety of the semi-final against Leipzig.
