A fallen tree on the A20
The prefecture, via social networks, indicated that the department was under surveillance but without major risk: “Department agents are crisscrossing the territory. The roads are wet, but without the presence of ice. The road temperature is positive.”
A few traces of snow remain on the shoulders in the south of the department, but no accidents have been reported. Only one tree fell on the A20 last night around 9 p.m., on the edge of the Creuse department. The incident partially blocked the emergency lane and the right lane.
The prefecture further indicates that at 7:15 p.m., Thursday November 21, 80 firefighters were mobilized in Indre, including 10 operating from the operational coordination room. Since 1:30 p.m., 40 interventions had been recorded. The firefighters were called upon until 10 a.m. this Friday, November 22.

Also this Friday, at midday, the prefecture indicated that the traffic restrictions for heavy goods vehicles in the department were now lifted.
Note also that according to Enedis, the Caetano storm had a “very strong impact on customers”. This Friday, November 22 at 1 p.m., 14,000 homes remained without electricity in Center-Val de Loire, including 550 in Indre and 100 homes still remained to be connected at 7 p.m.
“A gust of 103 km/h in Montgivray”
Météo Centre-Val de Loire also recorded winds exceeding 100 km/h, Thursday November 21, 2024, in Indre. The strongest gust in the department was recorded in Montgivray, where “a peak of 103 km/ha was recorded between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.”reports Olivier Renard, the president of the association. The stations of Rosnay and Préveranges (in Cher, bordering Indre) even recorded their records, with peaks reaching 101 and 109 km/h respectively. However, we still remain very far from the Indre record, which has been established for several years at 143 km/h, on November 4, 1994, at the Montgivray station.
Furthermore, Météo Centre-Val de Loire also noted spectacular temperature differences on Thursday, November 21, at the start of the afternoon, between the north and the south of the department. At that time, it actually recorded 15.5°C at Chaillac and 2°C at its Orville and Issoudun stations! “The redoux then reached the north of the department”specifies Florentin Cayrouse, vice-president of the association, which has raised temperatures there to around ten degrees.
