In recent weeks, the gendarmes of Gard are increasing and have decided to intensify road checks throughout the country. They were still particularly present last weekend.

A biker (too) in a hurry

Wednesday November 20, a squadron of the Nîmes motorized platoon was positioned near the village of Combas in the center of the department. A control operation took place for a good part of the afternoon.

The checks took place on departmental road 999. Around ten motorists were caught speeding. But it's a biker who was caught speeding the highest.

Aged 67 ansthe driver was traveling at the excessive speed of 172 km/h on a portion limited to 80 km/h, almost 100 km/h above the authorized limit.

The car was seized and immediately placed in administrative impound. The biker's license was revoked. For the rest, four drivers were taken at speeds greater than 40 to 50 km/h above the authorized speed.

In recent months, the police have seriously intensified road checks, on the instructions of the Prefect, Jérôme Bonet.
