Outings – Leisure – With “On my Court”, summer is launched in the 9th and 10th arrondissements of Marseille

A basketball tournament with prizes coupled with a musical evening, open-air cinema screenings, concerts of all kinds and even activities for the little ones… Summer 2024 will be rich in offerings in the 9th and 10th arrondissements. The municipal teams of which were recently gathered around the mayor, Anne-Marie d’Estienne d’Orves, to present this vast program. And from which we have selected five highlights which will, without doubt, beautify the sunny days finally returning.

Sport and music at On My Court, Sunday June 30

How could summer be launched as strongly as with the On My Court day? For its third edition, the free event is back on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pont-de-Vivaux sports complex, with a formula that should break last year’s 1,000 spectator mark: this time, a national “street basketball” tournament will be organized all day long. Urban arts will also be highlighted by a fashion show, hip-hop battles and shows, and musical performances with the presence of Wassim, Hiitch and Abdii d’la SF. In the evening, the temperature will rise a few notches with the after party from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. (reservations by telephone at 07 88 30 72 52), which will see Dj Soon, Dj J.Ice and DJ Djel, historic member of the Fonky Family, arrive on the decks.

Tribute to Aznavour, Thursday July 12

As 2024 marks the centenary, the town hall of the 9th/10th has decided to give the name of the singer to the Maison Blanche park. The artist’s family will be present from the launch at 5 p.m. with a special centenary broadcast live on RCF. Books on Armenia will then be offered to the public, then the choir of the Armenian Choir of Marseille will perform around the unveiling of the plaque, on which will be inscribed “Parc Maison Blanche – Charles Aznavour”.

Between magic and music Thursday July 18

Two meetings are scheduled for that day, starting with: Mystery and gumdrop : this magic show will take place at 5:30 p.m. in Maison Blanche park, and will be primarily open to children, and more widely to families. Then at 8:30 p.m., Pablo y su Charanga, a group heir to the Cuban repertoire, will launch its salsas in the park.

Children’s show and concert Thursday, AUGUST 1

The formula is similar to that of July 18, with a time dedicated to little ones at 5:30 p.m. at Maison Blanche Park. It will be with Les Frères Giovanni, a show mixing humor and poetry around two magicians. Then at 8:30 p.m., the Franco-Chilean collective La Cumbia Chicharra will perform as part of a carte blanche from La Méson.
