Beauvais: bus traffic resumes after 12 days of strike

Since this Saturday, Beauvais residents have been able to enjoy the pleasure of being able to take the bus again, after 12 days of traffic interruption. Since June 17, 90% of employees of the Corolis bus network, which employs around a hundred people, have been on strike. Today, buses are running on lines Chrono 1, Chrono 2, 3, 5 and 6, with a reduced frequency of passages. We will have to wait until Monday for the resumption of lines 4, 7 and 8.

Khalid Ahmissou, union delegate, CGT at Corolis, welcomes the agreements that were signed this Friday evening with the management of the network. “We obtained an increase in base salary of 4%,” he describes. Not only is this revaluation permanent, but it is also retroactive from January 1st. This reminder, as well as the exceptional purchasing power bonus of 500 euros obtained, will make it possible to cover the days of strikes. »

“This mobilization was not a whim”

The second point, which crystallized the conflict until Friday evening, is the extension of the night bonus until 6:30 a.m. Previously, she would run until 5 a.m. “We asked for 7 hours,” describes the trade unionist. Until yesterday, management offered us 6 hours. When they finally mentioned 6:30 a.m., we held a referendum with the strikers. They indicated that they agreed and wanted to return to work. »

The latest measure adopted: the creation of a commission dedicated to monitoring the quality of life at work. Grégory Saunier, director of the Corolis network, who says he is “satisfied that work is resuming” hopes that these meetings will strengthen social ties within the company.

“Throughout the negotiations, I realized that the job of driver is a bit lonely,” he continues. Drivers are in contact with users, but structurally have little opportunity to meet with colleagues. These commissions will allow employees to express themselves on a more regular basis. »

The frequency and composition of the committees remain to be defined. “We have been told about monthly meetings,” says union representative Khalid Ahmissou. “It is extremely important for us to work on the subject of quality of life at work. Of course, we are on our guard: we are waiting to see how it will go. This mobilization was not a whim: there was certainly financial mobilization, but also a tense social climate.”
