Thunderstorms: 28 departments on orange alert for Saturday: News

Météo-France updated its vigilance map on Saturday June 29 at noon. From now on, 28 departments are placed on orange alert for thunderstorms for Saturday.

Météo-France’s orange storm warning now concerns 28 departments on Saturday, June 28. The warning has ended for six departments “from the Landes to Poitou”, specifies Météo-France. The following are now affected by the storm warning from noon to midnight: =1emCher, Nièvre, Yonne, Côte-d’Or, Jura, Saône-et-Loire, Doubs, Territoire de Belfort, Haute-Marne, Aube, Haute-Saône, Ardennes, Marne, Meuse, Bas-Rhin, Moselle, Vosges, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Allier, Ain, Cantal, Lot, Aveyron, Tarn, Puy-de-Dôme, Loire and Rhône.

In its updated bulletin Saturday morning, Météo-France specifies that “the high altitude depression (‘cold drop’) at the origin of the stormy deterioration is currently moving up over Spain towards the Pyrenees”. In Aquitaine, it was observed = 1em “frequent thunderstorms. They were associated with strong electrical activity, locally high rainfall intensities sometimes of 30 to 50mm over the episode. Hail was also observed in places.”

14 departments on orange alert for Sunday

According to Météo-France forecasts, 14 departments are on orange alert for thunderstorms on Sunday, July 1. This orange alert is expected from midnight to 3 a.m. for the Ardennes, Marne, Aube, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Haute-Marne, Bas-Rhin, Vosges, Doubs, Jura, Haut-Rhin, Haute-Saône, Moselle.
