The Red Cross branch of Sézanne (Marne) is organizing a first aid training in Prevention and Civic Rescue level 1 (e-PSC1) in hybrid format. The session will take place on Saturday, July 6 at 21 place du Champ Benoist, in Sézanne, from 7:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 1:45 p.m. to 6 p.m., depending on the volunteer’s choice. Registrations are made directly via the official Red Cross website.

This training is for those who come into contact with people at risk on a daily basis, such as the elderly, disabled people, young children, or simply being able to react if a dangerous situation arises. It is open to everyone and teaches first aid: protection, alert, cardiac massage, use of the defibrillator, lateral safety position, choking, burn or even trauma.

Two-step training

It takes place in two parts. Online, there are 17 modules to complete at your own pace on the e-learning platform. This first part requires three to four hours of work. A good Internet connection on a computer is necessary. On the spotthe training lasts four hours to practice the gestures and practice with simulations. The idea is to prepare volunteers to act in real situations. Francois Ratelthe director of the local branch, specifies: “the content is the same as that of a classic PSC1 training, but you can do the theory at your own pace and make the most of the practical time. And what’s more, the price is reduced to €40.”
