Ligue 1: A competitor of the Greens in big trouble – ASSE

If ASSE passed the DNCG without a hitch, this is not the case for all clubs. Including in Ligue 1. Le Havre was sanctioned by the LFP. Not ideal for preparing for a season where the objective should once again be to obtain maintenance.

This week, ASSE obtained the green light from the financial policeman of French football. If the situation could have been completely different for the Greens, the sale allowed them to move forward more calmly. This is not the case for all Ligue 1 clubs. Starting with Le Havre. A team which will probably fight with the Greens in the race to maintain.

Fifteenth in the last edition of Ligue 1, the oldest club in French football was penalized by the DNCG. In fact, the HAC saw its payroll regulated by the control body. Le Havre leaders reacted quickly:

“Following the hearing of representatives of the HAC management on 12 June, and the transmission, since then, of the required additional documents, the National Management Control Department of the Professional Football League has made the expected decision and imposed a framework for the club’s payroll.

An unsurprising announcement, a logical consequence of the double punishment inflicted on the HAC.

Indeed, no one is unaware that HAC is the only Ligue 1 club not to have benefited from the funds negotiated as part of the agreement with CVC, which was intended in particular to consolidate and strengthen the clubs’ equity. The majority shareholder therefore had to replace this scandalous imbalance.

Furthermore, as the bad saga around TV rights drags on, the whole of French football is weakened, with these revenues representing their main source of revenue for French clubs in general and for the HAC in particular.

This decision was, however, anticipated by the club’s management, which has been working for several weeks on building a squad, guided by its budgetary situation.

Jean-Michel Roussier, President of the HAC, spoke this Friday: “ It was expected, it’s a logical decision, there’s nothing to say. The DNCG did the job, period. This is a direct consequence of what we suffer from non-regulation of HVAC. It’s been a year since I took all the actions I could take against the League against this CVC story and the way we, Le Havre, were treated. The money we didn’t get from CVC. This is what he missed.

Obviously the budget will have to decrease, of course. But the management of the payroll, we don’t need the DNCG to impose it on us. We are obliged to manage ourselves. […] In any case, there will only be transfers if there are sales. If there are no departures, there will be none. And as foreign clubs see the current problem with our TV rights, they are lowering their offers. It complicates everything. »

Also auditioned this week, OL are doing much better. Indeed, according to information from the Team, the DNCG has decided not to take any restrictive measures against Olympique Lyonnais…
